Engineering is human. So is the change that comes with it.
At Devleaps, we help teams ship better software with less friction — and we make sure the new way of working outlives the engagement. We're looking for a Transformation Lead who can steer a team through what it means to work differently, without losing trust, craft, or morale.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead the change, not just the technology: own the adoption plan alongside the technical one, and build the team habits and review culture that make a new way of working sustainable rather than merely announced.
- Serve as the trusted voice for clients: help senior stakeholders and engineers alike separate real capability from anxiety or hype, in plain language.
- Embed as an anchor in client teams: coach engineers through adopting new tools and practices, address concerns about skill erosion or job security honestly, and model good judgement about when to rely on a tool and when not to.
- Run the forums where change actually lands: workshops, retros and one-on-ones that surface how adoption is really going, not how it looks on a roadmap slide.
- Build capability deliberately: pairing, enablement sessions, documentation and internal champions, so the client's own people can carry it after we go.
- Design the handover from day one: team topology, ownership and capability transfer treated as deliverables, not an afterthought in the final week.
- Remove what slows teams down: often the blocker is trust, unclear guardrails, or unaddressed fear, not the technology itself. Name it and fix it.
YOU ARE
- A seasoned engineer who has led: you have made architectural calls and mentored engineers, and you know that adoption fails on people issues far more often than on technical ones.
- A consultant at heart: you ask before you prescribe, especially when introducing something as personally loaded as changing how someone works every day.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and politics: you can navigate scepticism, excitement, and everything in between without losing the room.
- A multiplier: you measure success by how confidently the team can carry the new way of working after you are gone.
- Human, and genuinely curious about how people experience change, not just how the architecture diagram looks.
YOU'LL BRING
- 6–10+ years of software or DevOps engineering experience, with a few years in a lead or principal capacity.
- Experience leading teams through a real technology or process change — ideally including AI tool adoption or a platform migration — and a clear view of what made it stick or fail.
- Enough technical depth across distributed systems, DDD, EDA and modern delivery practice to earn credibility with sceptical engineers. You do not need to be the deepest specialist in the room, but you cannot be bluffing.
- Working familiarity with the domains we lead in — engineering, AI and data — so you can coach adoption in any of the three.
- Strong facilitation skills: workshops, retros, and difficult one-on-one conversations about how someone's role is changing.
- A track record of capability transfer: enablement, mentoring, and leaving a team measurably more able than you found it.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (preferably Azure).
- Proven consultancy skills, with a particular strength in reading a room and adjusting the message.
- Fluent Dutch, professional English.
